Dr Samuel has an interest in teaching and training which attracts first year and final year medical students from the Newcastle Medical School and also Foundation Doctors from the County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust. Dr Samuel leads on Diabetes and other Chronic Disease Conditions including Mental Health and Dementia and works closely with our Practice Nurses. Dr Samuel also has interests in Management and Commisioning and works closely with the management team and is the Primary Care Home Lead for Easington 2. Dr Samuel currently does 4-6 clinical sessions per week (based at Wingate) and works flexibly during school holiday periods. Dr Samuel is looking into pursuing with the Intending Trainers Course in 2019 to progress the Practice into a Training Practice which will assist in future GP Retention in the area.

Dr Barnsley's interests are varied but include child health, cardiovascular disease and mental health. Dr Barnsley has various lead roles in the practice and works 7 clinical sessions and is based mainly at Horden.

Dr Kalia's special interest in Gynaecology and she currently offers Mirena Coil Insertion for contraceptive purposes and menstrual problems within the practice on a bi-monthly basis. Dr Kalia is on a 3 month sabbatical from the Practice between January and March 2019 and will returning to work 4-6 clinical sessions in April 2019 and will be based mainly at Horden and Peterlee

Dr Adla is a part time salaried GP in the practice with a special interest in Women’s Health. Dr Adla also specialises in Joint Injections and has an interest in Palliative Medicine and Frail and Elderly and routinely visits care homes on a monthly basis in the Wingate, Wheatley Hill, Thornley, Kelloe patch of the practice. Dr Adla is passionate about GP resilience and runs a Balint Group for local GPs in our Wheatley Hill Premises each month.

Dr Essa is our new Foundation Doctor on placement from University Hospital North Durham for 4 months between August and December 2019. Dr Essa will be mainly placed at our Wingate surgery.
